St.Stephen's School

Class RRK

Welcome to RRK

Our teacher is Rupinder Kaur and our nursery nurses are Claudina Allen and Lamia Boukir. The adults are all very impressed with the way we have settled into Reception and are proud to see us growing in independence and confidence every day.

We are looking forward to an exciting year, where we develop not only academically but also emotionally and socially. Our first year in school will challenge us and enable us to thrive as we engage in a range of open ended activities, learning through relevant experiences and play! RRK love to make the most of learning opportunities whether it’s indoors or outdoors; we know the importance of managing our feelings and behaviour so that our time in school is happy and purposeful. Developing our imaginations and language through role play, storytelling, songs and creative work is a particular favourite for us. We also love the challenge of the obstacle course and climbing equipment outside which is great for our physical development.

In Reception, we will be working hard to develop our concentration and listening skills so that we can participate fully in school life. Phonic lessons will provide us with knowledge of letters and sounds, helping us to become confident readers and writers. We will also be learning lots of new mathematical concepts in fun and practical ways.

The teachers work closely with parents to ensure we achieve our potential and will update you regarding any workshops or trips throughout the year. Please come and speak to us if you have any questions.

RRK Class Charter

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
