Class 6CR

Welcome to 6CR!

We are a polite, inquisitive and thoughtful Year 6 class at St. Stephen’s School. Our class teacher is Charlie Royle, supported by Krupali Trivedi, who has been part of the children’s journey throughout their recent time at St. Stephen’s. Together, we are looking forward to a year of learning, challenge and personal growth.

Year 6 is an important and exciting year and, while preparing for SATs will be an important part of our journey towards May, our ambitions for the children extend far beyond their test results. We want every child to leave 6CR feeling proud of the progress they have made and of the person they have become.

In 6CR, we believe that mistakes are some of our greatest opportunities to learn and grow. We encourage children to take risks, challenge themselves and approach unfamiliar ideas with confidence, rather than being afraid of getting things wrong. We want our classroom to be a place where children are curious, resilient and willing to have a go.

Throughout the year, we will explore fascinating topics including the Windrush generation, Black History and the life and work of Frida Kahlo, alongside a broad and engaging curriculum. We will also place a strong emphasis on developing independence, problem-solving and responsibility as the children prepare for the transition to secondary school.

 By July, we hope every member of 6CR will be able to look back and say, “I can solve problems for myself, I can tackle something new without being daunted, and I have become the best version of myself.”
