Class 3SS

Welcome to 3SS, a kind, curious and enthusiastic class at St. Stephen’s School, where every child is encouraged to believe in themselves, embrace challenges and strive for excellence. We are excited to begin a new school year filled with purposeful learning, inspiring experiences and opportunities for every child to flourish.

Our class teacher is Shyma Sasirajan, supported by Mehreen Sarwar, our dedicated Senior Support Staff, alongside an excellent team of Educational Assistants. Together, we are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where every child feels valued, empowered and supported to achieve their full potential.

At 3SS, we believe that every child can succeed. We foster a love of learning by encouraging children to ask questions, think creatively, solve problems and develop the confidence to share their ideas. We place a strong emphasis on communication and language development, empowering children to express themselves clearly, listen attentively, build their vocabulary and communicate effectively with others. As we take the important step from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2, we are becoming increasingly independent, resilient, responsible and confident learners, ready to take ownership of our learning and make positive contributions to our school and wider community.

Our WE CARE Charter continues to underpin everything we do. It encourages us to approach learning with a positive attitude, learn from our mistakes, show kindness and respect, celebrate one another’s achievements and always strive to be the very best version of ourselves. We are committed to developing not only successful learners, but also responsible, compassionate and empowered young people.

This year, our learning journey will be filled with exciting opportunities to discover, create and explore. From uncovering the mysteries of Ancient Egypt, to developing practical skills such as sewing, and investigating the fascinating world of light in Science, our curriculum will inspire curiosity, deepen understanding and encourage children to make meaningful connections across their learning.

Every day in 3SS is an opportunity to learn something new, challenge ourselves, build confidence and grow together. We celebrate effort as much as achievement and encourage every child to recognise their strengths, embrace challenges and understand that learning is a journey.
