RHE Curriculum
Relationships and Health Education
At St Stephen’s we follow the statutory guidance for teaching Relationships and Health Education (RHE). The curriculum focuses on teaching the fundamental building blocks and characteristics of positive relationships, including friendships, family relationships and relationships with other children and adults. Our RHE curriculum promotes physical and emotional and mental wellbeing for our children in a positive and sensitive manner.
RHE is covered within the Science, Computing and PSHE curriculum. We follow the JIGSAW scheme of work for our PSHE lessons which offers the children a broad and balanced education which is complemented by the school’s wider curriculum.
We consulted with pupils, parents and staff to implement an RHE curriculum that was age appropriate, evidence-based and high quality, while demonstrating a respect for the law and our local communities.
