Year 6 Parent Workshop: Olympic Odyssey

Year 6 had a fantastic time during our recent Parent Workshop, where children and parents came together to delve into the fascinating world of Ancient Greece. Parents and pupils worked side by side as they explored a variety of hands-on, interactive activities designed to bring history to life.

In the hall, children and parents took part in our very own mini-Olympics, competing in javelin, shot put, and tug of war. The energy was high and it was wonderful to see such enthusiastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship from both children and adults alike.

Inside the classroom, creativity flourished as everyone designed and painted traditional Greek theatre masks, carefully choosing colours and expressions to reflect the characters of ancient plays. Lively discussions also filled the room as they experienced the decision-making process of Ancient Greek democracy, casting votes and debating ideas just as the citizens of Athens once did.

It was a truly memorable morning, full of learning, laughter, and shared experiences. Thank you to all the parents who joined us and made the workshop such a joyful and engaging event!
