Year 6: Growing Against Violence workshops

On 6th January, we welcomed Growing Against Violence into school to deliver two workshops to our Year 6 pupils. We learnt a lot during the two workshops that we received that day.

The first workshop helped us to reflect on our mobile phone usage and social media habits. We learnt about cyber bullying, inappropriate content, gaming and grooming.

The second workshop focused around the meaning of true friendship. It also introduced the concept of gangs, what they claim to offer, and how they operate.  We learnt how gangs might recruit members, helping us to recognise tactics and make safe, informed choices.

These workshops support the Year 6 transition process to secondary school and were very informative - thank you Growing Against Violence for coming to visit us.
