Year 5's Out-of-this-World Trip to the Natural History Museum!

Year 5 had an unforgettable day as they set off on an exciting adventure to the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. The journey began bright and early, hopping on the District Line from Upton Park. Spirits were high as we travelled across London, full of anticipation for what the day would bring.

On arrival, we spent time exploring the museum’s fascinating exhibits. One of the highlights was definitely the Creepy Crawlies gallery, where we got up close with all sorts of bugs and beasties! There was so much to see, and the pupils were full of questions and curiosity as they wandered through the different zones.

The main event of the day was an incredible workshop where the children became space engineers, building and coding their very own Martian Rovers out of Lego! Working collaboratively in teams, they designed, built, and programmed their rovers to navigate a Mars-like terrain. They had to think carefully about the features their rover would need to survive and explore the red planet – it was a brilliant combination of creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

After a delicious and well-earned lunch, we made our way back to school, tired but absolutely buzzing with excitement. It was a fantastic day full of learning, laughter, and discovery – a trip we won’t forget any time soon!
