Year 5 Fairplay House Residential 2026

Children from Year 5 recently enjoyed an exciting residential visit to Fairplay House. The trip gave the children a fantastic opportunity to develop independence, resilience and teamwork through a range of outdoor learning activities.

The children took part in high ropes, where they showed great courage and determination as they climbed and balanced at height, supporting and encouraging one another throughout. They also experienced caving, working together carefully to navigate dark, enclosed spaces and developing their communication and problem-solving skills.

In woodland games, the children built teamwork and strategy skills, while bushcraft sessions helped them develop practical outdoor knowledge and confidence in a natural environment. One of the highlights was the night walk, where the children explored the woodland after dark, using their senses and listening carefully to their surroundings.

Throughout the residential, the children grew in confidence, strengthened friendships and demonstrated excellent behaviour. They represented the school brilliantly and returned with many positive memories of a challenging and enjoyable experience.
