Year 4 Swimming 2026
Year 4 have just completed two weeks of daily swimming lessons, and it has been wonderful to see their progress. Working in small groups with their instructors, the children began by using floats to build their confidence in the water. Over time, they developed their kicking, arm movements and breathing techniques, and by the end of the lessons many were able to swim confidently without floats.
The children also practised important water skills such as floating, moving through the water using different strokes, and entering and exiting the pool safely. They showed great determination and enthusiasm as they improved each day.
The experience helped the children become more organised and independent, as they managed their own equipment and prepared themselves for each session. Their growth, both in the pool and in self-management, has been fantastic to see.
We encourage families to help their children continue practising these skills outside of school. Swimming is a great way to keep active, build confidence and develop an important life skill.
We are very proud of everything Year 4 has achieved during these lessons—well done to everyone!
