Year 2 skateboarding workshop
What a marvellous morning! On Tuesday 17th October, Year 2 were lucky enough to receive a skateboarding workshop from a professional skatboarder. This was linked to the work they had been doing around Sky Brown, a British-Japanese professional skateboarder who competed in the Olympics in 2021 at the age of 13! The children had a fantastic morning learning how to balance, move in a range of directions and stay on the skateboard for an extended period of time. Some even learned a few tricks! Children also learnt about road safety and the importance of safety measures during outdoor road sports. This was a great opportunity for the children to overcome their fears; work with their friends; improve their balance and coordination skills; and try something new!
