Year 2 Skateboarding workshop 2024

We had such a great time! On Wednesday 13th November, Year 2 enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a skateboarding workshop taught by a professional skateboarder. We did this to help bring to life the learning we had been doing around Sky Brown, a British-Japanese professional skateboarder who won a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics at the age of 13! All the children had a wonderful experience practising their balance and movement on the skateboard, as well as team games and how to get on and off the board. This was also a great opportunity for the children to practise their teamwork skills while helping one another, as well as how to wear the correct safety equipment. This experience gave everyone the chance to be brave and tackle their fears, improve their balance and fitness and maybe even pick up a new hobby!
