Year 2 Chalkwell 2025

Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic day out at Chalkwell Beach!   Although, the weather was windy and cloudy that didn't dampen our spirits as excitement filled the air.   We set off on the District line to Barking, followed by a much-anticipated ride on the C2C train. The children were thrilled as we arrived at Chalkwell station and made our way down to the beach.

Once we had found the perfect spot on the sand, the children wasted no time getting stuck in. They built sandcastles, collected unique shells and dug deep holes.   It was lovely to see so many children showing the school’s WE CARE values by sharing their buckets, spades, and toys with one another so thoughtfully.

For lunch we all enjoyed our packed lunches, which had never tasted better after so much fresh air and activity. The highlight for many was enjoying a well-earned ice cream cone—definitely a treat to remember!

Finally, it was time for our journey home. There were smiles all round, and perhaps a bit of sand still in our shoes, but it was clear that the day had made a special impression on everyone.

It truly was a memorable trip, and we’re so pleased we were able to enjoy such a lovely experience together as our Year 2 family.
