Year 1 visit to West Ham Park

Year 1 went to West Ham Park as part of our Science week. We explored the park by looking at a range of trees and observed the differences between each tree. We learnt that a deciduous tree sheds its leaves in winter and evergreen trees keep their leaves throughout the year.

We had great fun collecting leaves and making tree rubbings. We talked about the different types of leaves and learnt the names of some trees and plants.

Next time you visit a park make sure to observe how the trees are changing and see if you can name them.
