Year 1 Workshop
‘Yesterday, at St Stephen’s School the massive tower record was shattered. Sheena and Laili were astonished, excited and shocked because it was the tallest tower ever. Laili said “I have never seen a more enormous, elongated tower!”
Me and my dad rolled newspaper with sticky tape and made it into a tower. It was taller than the Shard because it towered into the sky. I felt flabbergasted.’
Rayyan wrote this after the fabulous Parent Workshop held on 30th January. The parents and children were challenged to use only newspaper and masking tape to create a tall tower. The tower had to stand by itself. The towers were measured, some collapsed. The tallest tower had strong foundations and measured 1m 63cm.
The tower can be seen in the role play area outside Year 1.
