Year 1 Forest School Visit

In November, Year 1 went on a trip to the forest. We were very excited because we all have fond memories of visiting the forest in Reception. So we came to school wrapped up in hats, gloves and wellies to keep us warm in the cold winter weather.

We took two buses before we finally arrived at our destination. First, we investigated all of the trees in the forest. We enjoyed making up names for the trees based on our observations. Next, we collected leaves and identified which tree they came from. We found a range of leaves, such as oak, beech and sycamore. After that, we ate our delicious lunches in front of the duck pond.

Finally, we worked together to create some beautiful forest artwork. We even collected some forest treasures to take back to school. We all had a fantastic time working together and solving problems by ourselves. We are looking forward to returning to the forest with slightly warmer weather in the Spring!
