Y6 Windrush Voices Workshop at British Library

Over the past two weeks, our Year 6 pupils had the privilege of visiting the British Library to take part in the Windrush Voices workshop. The visit brought their history and reading learning to life through the exploration of real oral histories and primary sources linked to the Windrush generation.

During the sessions, pupils listened to first-hand accounts, examined archive materials and took part in thoughtful discussions about identity, migration and lived experience. They also visited the Treasures Gallery, where they viewed significant historical texts and artefacts.

It was a rich and inspiring experience that deepened pupils’ understanding of personal stories in history and left a lasting impression on their learning.
