Y5 Evacuee Fundraiser

The Year 5 children thoroughly enjoyed their evacuee day experience. Not only did they look fabulous in their evacuee costumes but the home made props, such as, evacuee tags and small brown satchels and suitcases were outstanding. The children spent their day taking part in a range of immersive activities. To begin, they made evacuee air raid shelters using wooden sticks, saws and glue guns. These were decorated with plastic bottles, paint, sticks and leaves. Diaries in the life of an evacuee were written on tea stained paper and last but not least, the children created their very own welsh cakes using wartime rationed ingredients. The delicious smell of baked flour. butter, sugar and raisins filled the air of the school and the children took pride in selling and purchasing their welshcakes after school on the KS2 playground. We would like to thank all parents for your support with this day. Without you we would have not been able to raise a whopping £127, which we will dedicate to ensure new resources are provided to aid your children’s learning.
