Y4 Natural History Museum
This week, year 4 were lucky enough to visit the Natural History Museum as part of our Vicious Volcanoes topic! We have been reading Escape from Pompeii as our core text this half term and were really excited to find out more about different volcanoes, including Mount Vesuvius. We have been learning about different types of volcanoes and we were really looking forward to this trip.
We took the tube all the way to South Kensington and had fun playing games on the way. We arrived at the museum and went straight to the Volcanoes and Earthquakes exhibit. We had a great time experiencing the earthquake simulator! Then it was straight to our workshop on Volcanoes. We had to work scientifically and use our knowledge of effusive and explosive volcanic eruptions to prevent a potential catastrophe from occurring. Luckily all our hard work paid off and we received a certificate to celebrate!
We had a quick break for lunch before visiting the dinosaur exhibit. It was amazing to meet the roaring Tyrannosaurus Rex who was dressed up for Christmas! Finally it was time to go home. We were exhausted but very excited to share what we had learnt with our parents.
