WE CARE Values
As you know, we have made some updates to our WE CARE values. Please see what WE CARE stands for and the changes in brackets.
Rights |
Definition |
Well-being |
To be safe, happy and healthy |
Expression |
To share our views and listen to others. |
Courtesy |
To be polite and use our manners at all times. |
Acceptance (previously Aspiration) |
To understand and appreciate each other, no matter who or where we come from. |
Respect |
To treat others, ourselves and our environment with kindness. |
Excellence (previously Equity) |
To aspire and achieve our potential and beyond. |
We feel that the addition of 'acceptance', conceptually related to equity, helps us to highlight the importance of the nine protected characteristics (please see: https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/advice-and-guidance/your-rights-under-equality-act-2010).
We feel that striving for 'excellence', similar to aspiring for our best, is at the cornerstone of our community.
In line with the relaunch of WE CARE, we have created a new school poem, which we recite daily within our phase assembly. Here is our WE CARE poem:
WELLBEING of mind, body and soul
EXPRESSION to reach our goal,
COURTEOUS is kind
ACCEPTANCE in mind,
RESPECT is our core
EXCELLENCE- and more,
WE CARE for you
each other too
WE CARE
Ask your child to recite this poem: can they do it from memory?
