Viva Mexico
Year 6 had a wonderful Mexican Food tasting workshop to enrich their Spanish learning. The mouthwatering feast was cooked by the brilliant Kerry and Rachel from Juniper. Muchas gracias. Rupert was disguised as a Mexican with his massive sombrero and colourful poncho... Favourites dishes included the amazing tacos and churros, not to mention the ‘mole’, a sauce made with chocolate! We noticed how vibrant the colours of Mexican food are.
In between mouthfuls, the children used a range of describing words like: picante (spicy), espectacular (spectacular) and of course, delicioso! (delicious). It reminds us that we are not just learning a language but we are becoming more aware of other cultures. Also, Spanish is spoken all over the world, not just Spain.
Vamos! (let’s go!)
