Vaisakhi Performance Year 4

Year 4 recently came together to celebrate the vibrant Sikh festival of Vaisakhi. This important occasion marks the creation of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699, as well as the harvest festival in Punjab, India.

In the weeks leading up to the event, pupils learned about the significance of Vaisakhi and explored key Sikh values such as equality, courage, and respect. They worked collaboratively to prepare a performance for fellow students and their families.

The celebration began with a confident retelling of the origins of Vaisakhi, followed by an energetic Bhangra dance and joyful singing. Colourful costumes and enthusiastic performances helped bring the festival to life.

Through this experience, Year 4 pupils developed a deeper appreciation of Sikh culture while also building teamwork skills and celebrating diversity within their school community.
