The Big Bang Science Fair
On the 15th March Krupali and Lalita took Rana, Afeefah, Miran, Merilin and Saybirahas in 5K to the ExCel Centre. From 5J they took Imageon, Rafsan, Andrei, Khadijah B and Humayra.
We all had an option if we wanted packed lunch or school dinners. Later on we got a choice to pick a partner!
We travelled by DLR; everybody was fulfilled and then we alighted the train. When we attained the ExCeL Centre we were given passes with our school name written down on it. As well as that we had to wear bright red wrist bands. Fortunately, we arrived on time for the show called the Guinness world record show. As it happens we didn’t get front row seats; we could not see properly.
There were so many world records to beat... but none were achieved. For every world record there was an Adjudicator who would announce the scores. The people who were picked out of the audience had to beat the records which were: Spinning on an office chair without your hand touching anything in 30secs. There was a world record set for the adults; you had to stick down your acquaintance to the wall with duct tape and you had to see how long they could stay stuck on the wall. They showed us a record to pop your eyes out for the longest. It was very freaky!
After that we had a chance to look around the building. The moment we entered a gargantuan room we saw an eagle with a golden beak. That moment I learned that eagles cannot move their eyeballs. There were so many activities such as: 3D cube puzzles, go cart racing. After the activities we had a mouth-watering lunch. We also had a little rest.
Lalita told us that we could waist as much time as we want resting...But we didn’t. Everyone had to have a fruit, sandwich; a drink. There were no tables to sit on so we had to settle down on the creamy, shiny coloured floor. There where tons of other schools. Not only Primary schools but Secondary schools! Then everyone packed away furthermore had to get through the hectic crowd.
Finally we decided to watch an Incredible Edibles show by Stefan Gates. It was Gruesome. People had to sit on sandwiches. Stefan tricked a girl into eating custard powder and put a fake label on it that said ‘Explosives! DANGER!’ so it was very humorous. He also told us that pink, strawberry marshmallows are made of bug’s blood; and honey is made of something that a bee vomits out but it isn’t vomit! Stefan asked for a volunteer to eat some red cabbage to cause him a lot of flatulence! That is how we ended the day.
