St Stephen's Remembrance Day
On Friday 11th November, we marked Remembrance Day at St. Stephen's School. Through the week, pupils across the Federation learned about this important national event. For example, in Nursery, the children enjoyed painting poppies in the playground, while children in Upper Key Stage 2 learned to recite a famous Remembrance poem, "For the Fallen," by Lawrence Binyon. In addition, all pupils made some beautiful poppies to wear, developing a range of art skills including printing, cutting, collaging and watercolour painting. This learning culminated in a minute's silence in the school playground. The school Junior Leadership Team performed a poem before we stood in a moment of contemplation.
Thank you to all children and staff for your respect and dedication to marking this important national event.
