St Stephen's Literature Festival
Last week, for the first time, St Stephen’s held a Literature Festival, which incorporated the Spelling Bee Final and World Book Day.
All week, the children participated in activities inspired by reading a book chosen by their teachers. They produced first and second drafts of written pieces, with a final published piece, which is now in a class book. The children’s final pieces will be on display at Parents’ Evening.
We facilitated buddy reading; the older pupils read stories to the younger ones. It was so lovely to see our older children grow in confidence over a week.
The Spelling Bee Final was yet again a success, and this year, the parents and carers of the finalists were invited to watch with pride. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Nishat Basir (5K) on winning the Spelling Bee Shield.

Well done to all the finalists!
Overall, this was a successful week, and I would like to say an enormous thank you to the staff and pupils for putting in so much effort and dedication.
