Sports Week
Upper and Lower Key Stage Two Sports Days
On Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th Years 3-6 took part in their annual sports day at the Terrance Macmillan Stadium at Newham Leisure Centre. Thankfully the weather held up nicely; the sun even managed to break through in the afternoons.
There were many events on offer for all children to take part in including: long and triple jump, high jump, 400 and 100m sprints, discus and shot put. We were even given the opportunity to use some of the real javelins!
The parent and teacher races (as always) caused some dramatic scenes, as adults fought it out on the 100m track to claim victory and pride! Well done and thank you to all of those who were courageous enough to give it a go!
Nursery Sports Day
On Wednesday19th two sports days took place for the nursery and reception children in St. Stephen’s Garden. The children took part in ten activities including the tricky egg and spoon, the challenging sack race and the wobbly obstacle course. The weather was beautiful and sunny; we were grateful for the scrumptious, mouth-watering oranges and juice that we had on the refreshment stall.
On each activity we were lucky enough to have some fantastic volunteers from Year s 4 and 5 to demonstrate and record the winners. Well done, you all did an amazing job and made sports day run very smoothly.
Thank you once again to all those parents who challenged themselves to take part in the parent’s race! Hopefully there’ll be no diving and we’ll all be able to stay on our feet next year!
Reception and Key Stage One Sports Day
Thursday 20th June saw the event of Reception and Key Stage One Sports Day at West Ham Park. There were lots of activities to take part in including: javelin, sack race, 100m sprint and many more!
A special thank you to the parents who volunteered to walk the children to West Ham Park and who helped to run the activities. Without your valuable support Sports Day would not have been such a success.
Thank you also to those who turned up to spectate, it was excellent to see so many of you supporting the children.
Although the rain at the end of the day prevented the teacher and parent race, we all had a wonderful time at West Ham Park!
