SEND Parent Forum

This week, the SEND team had the pleasure of leading a Parent forum all about Writing and Assessment for parents of children in Reception, Year 1 and the Hub class. Within the meeting, we discussed: how to support children to build fine motor strength in preparation for writing; strategies on supporting children to understand the purpose of writing in communication; and creating memorable, special experiences for children to support their writing and speech and language development. We also shared our assessment procedures for pupils with special educational needs, which ensure all pupils are challenged within in their learning. Finally, we enjoyed sharing some wonderful pupil work with the parents. We would like to thank our brilliant parents for a great turn out and hope that all parents found the workshop useful.
We are already looking forward to our next forum!
