Reception Plashet Park Visit

This week, we set off for a delightful adventure to Plashet Park, making the most of the sunshine and crisp autumn air – and celebrating the small miracle that it actually stayed dry for the whole trip!
On our walk, the children explored the difference between deciduous and evergreen leaves, leading to lots of curious questions (and even more leaf collecting). They happily scooped up colourful piles of fallen leaves, examined them up close, and had a go at bark rubbing to create wonderfully unique textures on paper.

Once inside the park, the excitement only grew. The children loved the parachute games, which involved much laughing, running, and enthusiastic parachute-flapping. We used paint and crayons to do lots of fun arty activities too, including leaf printing and bark rubbing. Then came the slides, swings, and climbing equipment – all tested thoroughly and declared “the best ever” by our very reliable experts.

We also took time for a calming nature walk, listening carefully to birdsong, the rustle of leaves, and the occasional joyful shout from the slide.

It was a day filled with discovery, creativity, and plenty of fresh air.
A huge thank you to the parents who joined us – we couldn’t have done it without you!

And finally, a gentle reminder from the children: Plashet Park is wonderfully local… meaning your children would be thrilled if you popped down again at the weekend. Just saying!
