Pop Up Panto
On Tuesday 9th December, our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed a fantastic pop-up pantomime of Jack and the Beanstalk in the school hall, performed by a theatre troupe from the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford. The production had all the magic of a traditional panto – including a spectacular beanstalk that grew from Jack’s magic beans and stretched almost to the ceiling, leaving the children absolutely mesmerised. They loved joining in with the classic call-and-response, singing along to some of their favourite songs and laughing at the many hilarious jokes.
A particular highlight was when a few brave teachers took to the stage as the ‘villain landlords’, encouraged by enthusiastic cheers and perfectly timed boos from the children. The experience not only brought the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to life, but also inspired our Reception and Year 2 pupils to become even more confident performers in their own festive productions for parents. It was a joyful way to celebrate the season and nurture a love of live theatre in our youngest learners.
