One World Day
What a day! October 18th, 2012 – St. Stephen’s was definitely the place to be! For the day we left our uniforms at home and wore clothes from all around the world. We had African Queens, Irish leprechauns and in year 6 children wore Japanese kimonos, to name but a few.
In the morning we had our creative skills morning where we swapped year groups, teachers and classrooms and as you walked down the corridor you could smell wafts of African flatbreads and Australian ANZAC biscuits, you could hear Hawaiian music being played on Ukuleles and dances being created to American samba music, and see art from all around the world being produced; from Indian rangoli patterns to African tribal designs.
Lunch time was just as exciting as Sue had created dishes from around the World for us to enjoy – Delicious!

In the afternoon we returned to our usual classrooms and studied a country that was connected to our year groups. It was such a special day and we want to say a big thank you to all the staff and parents who helped it run so smoothly.
