One World Day
One World Day 2014 was a spectacular and magical day, thoroughly enjoyed by all. During this wonderful day, all children dressed up beautifully in clothes to represent a different country. Furthermore, all children participated in working collaboratively to create a large piece of art work originating from different poems. A range of beautiful pieces were made including a tapestry of the Jabberwocky, beautiful batik tigers, a patch work of a bear, a mixed media toucan, Aboriginal art on canvas and a Chinese dragon printing. We all learnt some amazing techniques!
Also, many children were lucky enough to work with professional artists. The three groups of children, who worked with the professionals, created an incredible 8 foot Pegasus made from wire, a mixed media piece of art work based on a ‘Faces of the World’ haiku poem and a huge felt elephant made from real sheep’s wool. Both the children and professionals were proud of their magnificent pieces of art.
All the masterpieces created during this day will be displayed in our dining hall. Please feel free to come and admire all our creations! (We can’t wait to see them either!)
