Lower KS2 Sports Day
On Monday 4th June , year 3 and 4 were very fortunate to embark on a spectacular visit to Newham Leisure Centre(Terence Mcmillan Stadium) for sports day, where we participated in variety of sports. These included the well-known long jump, the terrific javelin, the tiring 200 metre race, the exhilarating 100 metre sprint, shot-put, speed bounce and discus.
Although everyone tried their hardest, only the top three athletes from each race could go into the finals. Everyone was cheering the athletes on. There was also a parent and teachers race, (men and ladies separate) Tom Newnham won the men’s race and Sophie Johnson was victorious in the ladies one.
Before going back to school, the last event was a relay race with the teachers, in the same teams. Fortunately for me, 4TN won! We all enjoyed the races and everyone showed great sportsmanship. As a result of Sports Day, we all feel very enthusiastic about sport and cannot wait for Summer League to start!
A big thank you to Emilie Johansen for organising the day, Katy Carlos organising the events on the day, all the Lower Key Stage 2 teachers for assisting all day and also to the parents and who helped out and supported their children.
