Literature Festival

This week, we have been celebrating all things BOOKS! We have been reading an array of classic British texts including: David Copperfield, Oliver Twist, Peter Pan, Famous Five, Peter Rabbit and The Hobbit! Through reading these wonderful stories, we have immersed ourselves in high level vocabulary, syntax, and plots and got to know renowned characters and authors.

Further enriching our week were a plethora of events including: story workshops based on each class’ text, speech making competitions in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, World Book Day dress up day, Spelling Bee finals for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage two and Buddy Reading sessions, where older children read stories to younger children.
