Holocaust Memorial Trip

On Friday 25th January, four Year 6 pupils were fortunate to attend the Holocaust Memorial at East Ham Town Hall. They spent the morning taking part and paying their respects to the 6 billion Jewish people who died in the Holocaust. They were joined by Harry Olmer BEM who is a Holocaust survivor. He gave an emotional account of his life during the Holocaust. This Year’s theme was ‘Torn from Home’ and it helped Year 6 reflect on how the loss of a safe place to call "home" is part of the trauma faced by anyone experiencing persecution and genocide.
