Goodbye Butterflies!

On Friday, Reception went to the park to fly their kites for Queen's Week.
We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to say goodbye to our butterflies.

They arrived in reception a few weeks ago, but they weren't butterflies then, they were caterpillars!
Over the last few weeks we have watched them change and we have learnt lots about them.

Do you know how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly?
If not, come and ask the children in reception because we are experts!
We can even tell you what happens inside a chrysalis.

At the park we sat in a circle with our butterflies in the middle.
We sang our caterpillar song one last time and opened our net up.
Slowly but surely the butterflies flew away and we hope they found a good home near the park.
