Chalkwell Beach

Year 2 went on a trip to Chalkwell Beach. I was a beautiful sunny day and we were all very
excited.

We quickly boarded the coach and put on our seatbelts. We saw lots of interesting things along the way such as, horses and wind turbines. After about an hour we finally arrived at Chalkwell  Beach. We all took our canvas bags that we made for Environment Week, because we do not want any plastic in the ocean.

We got off the coach and smelt the sea and fresh air. Our teachers explained the rules and we  were then able to play in the sand and pebbles. We had a competition to see who could build the biggest sandcastle. The sand was really dry and didn't stick together. So we had to put water  on it to make it stick. We also collected seaweed, shells, leaves and rocks for our Andy Goldsworthy art.

At lunch time we had a picnic on the beach. We ate a sandwich, some yummy biscuits and some  fruit. Once, we had all had lunch we are again able to play on the beach and we saw the tide coming in. After that, we went and brought an ice cream from the little shop and it was very  yummy.

Finally, it was time to go home. We all said bye to the beach and we got on the bus. We were all  very tired and some of us fell asleep.

The best part of the day was burying our friends in the sand.

We are sure that if you went to Chalkwell Beach you would also have a wonderful day!
