COMMUNITY POLICE ASSEMBLIES
Today we were fortunate to have the local community police officers, Sharon and Sian, attend school to lead on our assemblies. They discussed Stranger Danger with us and reminded us to follow 3 key steps if we ever come across a stranger, who is asking us to do something that we do not feel comfortable with. The three steps are: 1) Run, 2) Yell and 3) Tell. We have to remember to do steps 1 and 2 at the same time to alert a trusted adult.
They also spoke to us about Road Safety and always being aware of who is around us when we are walking on the streets. Wearing a hoodie or listening to ear phones can restrict our awareness of others so we must ensure we are always alert and only wear hoods when necessary.
In the Year 5 and 6 assembly, Sharon and Sian also discussed gangs with us and ensured that we are all aware of how to avoid getting involved with gangs and how this could impact our lives in the future.
They were very informative assemblies and reminded us of many ways to keep safe
