Arvon Writing Residential

Arvon Foundation facilitate creative writing courses across England, where published authors run workshops with pupils, as well as one to one tutorials to improve their writing. 

We took sixteen of our Year 6 pupils for this amazing experience for almost a week to immerse themselves into the beautiful countryside of Shropshire. They were accompanied by two members of the leadership team, and are now in the process of compiling an anthology of poems and stories.

The huge country estate that they stayed at was donated by Academy Award winning playwright, John Osborne. Pupils went for daily country walks for inspiration, took turns cooking dinners and used their spare time to work on their writing. Perhaps one day they'll have their own bestsellers.
