Class 2VR
Welcome to Class 2VR!
We are thrilled to begin our Year 2 adventure with our wonderful teacher, Victoria Ready, alongside our senior support staff member Jahanara Ahmed and a team of additional adults. You will find us in Room 8.
This year, our classroom will be a lively, supportive space where we explore new ideas, build on what we already know, and most importantly—have fun! Through our exciting immersive curriculum, we will dive into fascinating topics such as The Great Fire of London, The Seaside, Australia and its surrounding oceans, Roman Warriors, and Global Heroes.
We will be strengthening our Maths and English skills to become confident readers, writers, and mathematicians.
- In English, reading will be at the heart of our learning. We will explore key texts that spark speaking, listening, writing, and creativity. (You can see the full book list on our school website.)
- In Maths, we will develop a solid understanding of place value and the four operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—as well as measurements and the properties of shapes.
Throughout our journey, we will live out our school’s WE CARE ethos:
- Wellbeing
- Expression
- Courtesy
- Acceptance
- Respect
- Excellence
As part of our immersive learning, we will even take part in a skateboarding workshop, celebrating the achievements of male and female skateboarders at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
With hands-on projects, outdoor adventures, and plenty of teamwork, Year 2 will be about growing both academically and personally.
We can’t wait to make this a year to remember!
