Class 2AW
Welcome to Class 2AW!
We are a class of kind, enthusiastic, and curious learners, ready to begin an exciting learning journey together this year.
Our class teacher is Annie Wood, supported by our senior support staff member, Jahanara Ahmed. We are also lucky to have a fantastic team of additional adults working with us in Room 9.
Throughout the year, we will be guided by our school’s WE CARE values, which we aim to demonstrate in everything we do — both in the classroom and around the school.
WE CARE stands for:
Wellbeing – Expression – Courtesy – Acceptance – Respect – Excellence
In English, our focus will be on reading a variety of key fiction and non-fiction texts, all of which are available on the school website. We will also have lots of opportunities to build our writing, speaking, and creative skills.
In Maths, we’ll develop our understanding of key concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and place value. We will also explore measurements and properties of shapes throughout the year.
Our immersive curriculum will take us on exciting journeys through topics like The Seaside, I Am a Warrior, The Great Fire of London, and Global Heroes.
In addition to engaging parent workshops, we’ll enjoy hands-on experiences such as a skateboarding workshop and a visit to Chalkwell Beach.
