St.Stephen's School

Class 1SS

Welcome to 1SS.

Our teacher is Shyma Sasirajan and our HLTA is Hazra Thawa and you will find us in Room 4.  This is an exciting year as we are working really hard with our phonics so that we can read some amazing stories!  Please read with us every day at home so that our imagination and vocabulary can grow!  We will be writing in a wide range of genres which will mean that we need to use our phonics to spell form letters correctly and punctuate our sentences accurately.

In maths we will be learning about numbers to 100 and beyond and we will become more confident with adding and taking away. One of our challenges is to know our number bonds to 10 so we will practise them until we are experts!

In PE we will be working on changing independently. We are looking forward to using our WE CARE charter to help us become kind, considerate and courteous pupils who love to learn and always try their best!

1SS Class Charter

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
