Class 1LP
Welcome to 1LP
In 1LP we are kind, hard working and enthusiastic. You will find us in room 5. Our teacher is Laili Pervin and we are lucky to also have the support of lots of different adults, especially Sanna Iqbal who is our senior support staff.
We are excited about all the new learning that year 1 has to offer! In particular, we will be working really hard with our phonics so that we can read some amazing stories. Please read with us every day at home, so that we can help both our imagination and vocabulary to grow! We will also be writing everything from stories and poems to instructions and fact files.
We will be developing our understanding of numbers to 100 and beyond. We will continue to work on our adding and taking away. A very important challenge for us this year will be learning our number bonds to 10 and beyond- so we will need to practise until we are number bond masters!
We will also be learning even more about the world around us in our History, Geography and Science lessons, as well as becoming experts in using computers. We are looking forward to learning all about the Hindu festival of Diwali - and we are going to be showing off our singing, dancing and acting at our Parent’s Assembly.
